INSPIRE. IMPACT.
Welcome to MSRuntheUS.com, a website all about raising awareness and donations to help those affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS). To do that I, Ashley Kumlien, am running 3,230 miles across America from San Francisco, CA to New York, NY inspired by my mother's 28 yr diagnosis of MS. To learn more about the run that is currently taking place please visit 'The Runner' and 'The Plan' pages, but for now let's talk about MS Run the US, Inc.
MS Run the US, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) government approved charitable organization that was set up to raise donations to help those living with MS and gather sponsorships to fund my run across America. The main goal of MS Run the US Inc. is to raise awareness about MS and inspire individuals across the nation to donate towards the cure of this disabling disease. In order to inspire the donations towards this cause I wanted to do something BIG. Something a few hundred people have done before, but something many would consider out of their realm of possibility. I have decided to run 20-30 miles a day, 6 days a week for approximately 6 months traveling from San Francisco, CA to New York, NY. The idea is to generate attention and, in turn, raise as much money as possible to be donated to multiple MS organizations to aid the research and help to find a cure for this disabling disease.
| [ INSPIRED BY JILL'S 28 YEAR STRUGGLE WITH MS ] I chose to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis because my mother, Jill Kumlien, has been battling MS for over 28 years. This disease has robbed my mother of the abilities you and I take for granted every day. This run is a tribute to her daily triumph over disabilities associated with having MS, and to all others just like her living with the disabling affects of MS. All donated funds raised by MS Run the US will contribute to The Montel Williams MS Foundation and The National MS Society. |
